We buy mid-century and vintage furniture in Toronto and beyond

We specialize in mid-century Scandinavian design and also stock vintage lighting, antiques, industrial and designer pieces. Teak, rosewood, walnut and oak are always in demand — we're always buying.

Sell Your Stuff to Miw

What we buy

Mid-century modern and Scandinavian design is our focus, but we buy well beyond it — credenzas, dressers, dining sets, seating, vintage lighting, hi-fi consoles, antiques, industrial and designer pieces. Teak, rosewood, walnut and oak are always in demand here, and we're always buying.

What we don't

We don't buy brand new furniture, mattresses, or anything with water damage or mould. Modern reproductions aren't for us either — though vintage reproductions are often worth a look. Antiques depend on the piece. Some we take, some we don't, so send a photo and we'll tell you.

Paid on collection

We buy most pieces outright — cash or e-transfer on collection, no waiting for it to sell. For rarer designer pieces, consignment sometimes works better. If yours is one, we'll say so and explain the options.

We collect across Toronto, the GTA and southern Ontario, with regular runs to Montreal and Ottawa. Further afield we buy and import when the piece is right — much of our Italian and European stock arrives that way. Wherever you are, send photos.

What kind of furniture do you buy?
Mid-century modern and Scandinavian design is our focus, but we buy well beyond it — credenzas, dressers, dining sets, seating, vintage lighting, hi-fi consoles, antiques, industrial and designer pieces. Teak, rosewood, walnut and oak are always in demand here, and we're always buying.
How much is my mid-century piece worth?
It comes down to the maker, the wood, the condition and the size. Solid walnut and rosewood carry a premium over veneer. Original hardware and a complete set raise the number. If you have a figure in mind, say so — some pieces have a well-established market value and we'd rather start from where you are. Send photos and we'll give you a real number.
Do you buy IKEA or newer furniture?
Do you buy IKEA or newer furniture? We love IKEA — and early vintage IKEA is genuinely collectible, so if yours has some age on it, send it over. What we don't take is current retail furniture that's still sitting in the shops. The exception is design brands. Knoll, Herman Miller, Vitra, Kartell, Cassina, Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Søn, Artek, Flos, Louis Poulsen, USM Haller, Thonet, Gubi, B&B Italia, Poltrona Frau and the like hold their value whether they're sixty years old or six. If it's one of those, we're interested regardless of age. Not sure what you've got? Send a photo and we'll tell you.
Do you pick up, and where from?
Yes, and we do the lifting. Toronto, East York, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville and Hamilton. Further out, ask anyway.
How quickly do I get paid?
On collection, by cash or e-transfer.
Can you clear a whole house or estate?
Yes. We regularly buy from downsizing moves and estate clear-outs across the GTA.
What if I have no idea what it is?
That is normal. Send four photos — the whole piece, the top surface, the inside of the top drawer, and anything damaged — and we will identify it for you.
